Das „Center for Radiopharmaceutical Science“ (CRS) befasst sich mit radioaktiven Wirkstoffen, die als Diagnostika oder Therapeutika in metastasierenden Erkrankungen wirksam sind. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Darstellung von molekularen Funktionen in Gehirn und Tumoren mit intelligenten PET-Radioliganden. Dabei wird einerseits Grundlagenforschung als auch angewandte Forschung in Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie betrieben. Die vom CRS für klinische Studien hergestellten Radiopharmaka werden unter GMP-Bedingungen nach geltenden pharmazeutischen Richtlinien (EU oder FDA) produziert und kontrolliert.

This position is located at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen.

The Paul Scherrer Institute is with 1400 employees the largest research centre for the natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland and a worldwide leading user laboratory. Its research activities are concentrated on the main topics structure of matter, energy and environmental research as well as human health.

The Centre of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (CRS) at the Paul Scherrer Institute is mainly dedicated to the development of innovative tracers using radioactively labelled molecules for the detection and therapy of pathologies in patients. Radiometal labelled proteins and peptides have been proven very powerful for the detection and treatment and are the main focus of research.

For our Group "Receptor Targeting” at the Centre for Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (zrw.web.psi.ch) we are looking for a

PhD Student

for the development and evaluation of radiopharmaceutical for β-cell imaging

Your tasks

• Radio labelling of new compounds based on proteins and peptides
• Evaluation of these compounds for their usefulness as β-cell imaging agents
• Collaborating in ongoing national and international research projects with partners from academia and industry
• Carrying out a PhD thesis in this research domain

Your profile

• You hold a University diploma/MSc degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or pharmacy with excellent qualifications
• You are an enthusiastic and creative scientist interested to work in a very interdisciplinary environment within a European wide consortium

Your profile

• You hold a PhD in biology, biochemistry or pharmacy with excellent qualifications
• You have already published in high ranking journals
• You are experienced in in vitro or/and in vivo evaluation techniques
• You are an enthusiastic and creative scientist interested to work in a very interdisciplinary environment
• You have to be fluent in writing and speaking English
